Overview

Yoga, Pranayama and meditation are not wellness add-ons — they are Ayurveda's sister science, referenced throughout the classical texts. Every treatment plan at our clinic includes an individualised yoga and breath-work prescription, selected to match your constitution, condition and life stage.

Dr. Anil K Ayyappan has been a practising yoga therapist for over 20 years. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing diabetes, living with anxiety, or simply wanting to build a long-term practice — you will receive clear, practical guidance, not generic sequences.

The Ayurvedic view

Ayurveda addresses the body; yoga addresses the mind-body interface; meditation addresses consciousness itself. Used together, they form a complete system: food heals the tissues, movement heals the channels, breath heals the nervous system and meditation heals the mind. Each supports the others. That is why our patients who follow the full prescription consistently heal faster than those who take only the medicines.

Therapies & medicines we use

Therapeutic Asana

Condition-specific posture sequences designed for your body, not a generic class.

Pranayama

Targeted breath-work: Nadi Shodhana, Bhramari, Ujjayi, Kapalabhati — selected to pacify or energise.

Yoga Nidra

Guided deep-rest practice — one of the most powerful tools for anxiety, insomnia and recovery.

Meditation

Graded, practical meditation guidance — starting from 5 minutes, never forced.

Mudra & Bandha

Classical gestures and locks — subtle but effective adjuncts.

Lifestyle counselling

Sleep, screen time, routines — the real foundation of lasting mental health.

Expected timeline

Most patients feel meaningful shifts in sleep and anxiety within 10–14 days of daily practice. Physical conditions like back pain and hypertension show measurable improvement over 6–8 weeks. Meditation benefits compound over months — by three months most patients report a fundamentally steadier mind.

“Twenty years of anxiety, a decade on medication. Dr. Anil gave me a simple Pranayama and meditation routine alongside the medicines. Today I am medication-free and the calmest I have been since my teens.”

Questions patients ask

I've never done yoga. Is this for me?
Absolutely. We start from wherever you are. Some patients begin with just breathing exercises in a chair. Progress is built gently and individually — there is no competition and no pretzel poses required.
Do you teach group classes or one-on-one?
Both. Condition-specific therapy is one-on-one, especially for back pain, hypertension, post-stroke or pregnancy care. General wellness groups are available for those maintaining health rather than managing disease.
Can I do yoga during Panchakarma?
Yes — a gentle, specific set of practices supports detoxification. Your yoga prescription is adjusted for each phase of Panchakarma.
Will meditation help my anxiety?
Yes, reliably — but not overnight. With a simple 10-minute daily practice and Ayurvedic support, most anxiety patients report a clear, sustained reduction within 6–8 weeks.
