The degree confers the title Vaidya and the privilege to practise Ayurvedic medicine, including the prescription of classical pharmacopoeial formulations and the performance of Panchakarma.

Why we publish this page
Kerala Ayurveda is, sadly, a field in which unqualified practitioners outnumber qualified ones, and in which a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine degree is sometimes assumed rather than verified. We believe transparency is part of treatment: patients have a right to know exactly who they are placing their health in the hands of, and that information should be one click away — not buried inside a clinic visit.
If you are evaluating Ayurvedic doctors anywhere in Kerala, we recommend you ask every clinic for the same information laid out on this page. Read our patient guide on how to choose a genuine Ayurvedic doctor in Kerala for the ten clinical signs to look for.
